Do What You Wish You Can

April 2, 2021

“That’s so cool that you moved to Costa Rica. I wish I could do something like that.”

That’s been a common phrase I’ve heard over the past 2 years.

The truth of the matter is that I thought similarly in the years leading up to making this move happen. I felt a strong desire to make this leap, but I believed there were so many reasons why I couldn’t – or at least “not right now”.

What I see now after making this move happen is that I spent years with beliefs that prevented me from taking the steps to begin. I didn’t believe I could do it. I felt somehow that I wasn’t “allowed” to take this alternative path. I felt afraid about “failing” and being responsible for two children.

Once I decided it would happen, I allowed myself to rise to the occasion. We departed within 10 months of deciding.

We’ve both learned an incredible amount about who we are, and the learning continues.

John learned that he’s willing to lounge in a hammock every once in a while (something his old self wouldn’t have ever done).

To help others that desire taking such a leap in their lives, John and I are offering coaching to help parents move towards their visions. You can learn more about our new service in the link in the comments <3
